Hmm, die TOS sehen aber nich gut aus, scheint ein Overseller zu sein.

Zum Hoster, ich habe nur gutes von den Server Betreibern gehört... angeblich wäre der Kontakt per Email bis jetzt sehr gut verlaufen und die kümmern sich Recht schnell um alle anliegen. Zur Zeit bin ich aber noch auf keinen Server, sondern Freehoster... weil das Forum noch in Aufbau ist, es fehlen ein paar Kleinigkeiten und die Kohle muss noch zusammen gekratzt werden... vielleicht wird es nächstes Jahr was damit.

Was mir so widerstrebt an den TOS:

Servers are shared with other customers, and as such IRC-related activities or severely CPU intensive CGI scripts (e.g. chat scripts, scripts which have bugs causing them to not close properly after being run, etc.) are not encouraged.

Zu Deutsch: Chats und "CPU-lastige" Scripte verboten. Was CPU-lastig ist, ist nich genauer definiert, auf einem anderen Host kämpfe ich momentan drum, dass MyBB nicht als "CPU-Lastig" angesehen wird

The Customer agrees to hold only one (1) active web hosting service plan at any given time with DreamHost Web Hosting. Signing up for multiple plans is grounds for termination of all plans, including the first one, without warning.

You DO still have to worry about plenty of other things though... if your site isn't well optimized and is causing issues for others on your shared server (either because it's pounding the CPU, hogging RAM, or doing tons of disk I/O), you may be asked to sign up for your own DreamHost Private Server.

Jep... man muss bei Dreamhost auf RAM- und CPU-Verbrauch achten, oder sich nen Private-Server kaufen.

What's not allowed in "Unlimited"?

Basically, sites whose essential purpose is to use disk or bandwidth.

When making a website, you should be thinking about "How can I make an interesting site for my visitors while minimizing my server storage, bandwidth, file system, memory, and cpu impact as much as possible?"

The result will be a better experience for your visitors, your web host, and yourself!

Here are some specific examples of things not allowed:

* Copyrighted content you are not explicity licensed to distribute.
* File upload / sharing / archive / backup / mirroring / distribution sites.
* A site created primarily to drive traffic to another site.
* Making your account resources available (whether for free or pay) to the general public.

Auch interessant... wenn ich Downloads bereit stelle, ist das dann schon "File-Sharing"?
Ich soll also ein Minimum nur nutzen von meinen Reccourcen- obwohl ich unlimited habe?
