Theoretisch schon, aber dadurch wird das Problem mit der Konvertierung nicht weggehen. Am besten du machst du eine genaue Fehlerbeschreibung in einem neuen Thema.

Hallo,

Bei der UTF8 Konvertierung bekomme ich folgende Meldung:
Warning: mysql_fetch_assoc(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /var/www/web1/html/MYBB/convert-encoding.php on line 170

Könnte Ihr mir sagen was das bedeutet ?

Bisher habe ich folgendes gemacht
Datenbank und Forum auf eigenen PC gesichert.
Laut Upgrade-Anleitung Altes Forum gelöscht und neues aufgespielt.
die Dateien config.php & settings.php zurückgespielt ins forum und das upgrade laufen lassen.
Dann utf8_header.php ins PlugIn verzeichnis kopiert und aktiviert

zu guter letzt die Datei convert-encoding.php

Dabei tauchte dann folgende Meldung auf:

was bedeutet das jetzt für mich ??

@lexington: Der einfachste Weg ist nur die geänderten Dateien auf den Webspace zu laden. Im Paket ist der Order "install" enthalten, d.h. du kannst das Upgradeskript ganz normal durchlaufen lassen. Es kann zu Problemen mit Plugins kommen, das ist aber sehr selten.

@modercol: Im Template header oder headerinclude scheint ein Fehler mit einer Variablen zu sein. Prüfe das bitte nach.

Also nochmal für die ganzen "simplen Gemüter" wie mich.

1) diese Datei https://www.mybb.de/forum/attachment.php?aid=1696 downloaden
2) entpacken
3) im ASCI Modus per FTP in meinen Forums ordner hochladen (und immer ja sagen, wenn er sagt Datei schon vorhanden)

Fertig ???
