Das Plugin bei die Lightbox ins Forum ein... Was es genau macht, müsste man ausprobieren, die Beschreibung sagt das jedenfalls nicht.
Das Plugin naja hat nenn Darstellungsfehler.
Aber hier das stand in der Readme Datei vielleicht hilft das jemandem was dieses Plugin macht:

Läuft mit MyBB 1.6 leider nicht mehr :-(
Das ist ja auch für MyBB 1.2...
Was für ein Problem gibt es damit?
Man kann die eingebundenen Bilder nicht anklicken.
Die eigentliche Lightbox öffnet sich nicht. Wieso auch immer.
Kannst du ja mal in einer MyBB 1.6 Installation probieren.
