Live Threads adds AJAX functionality to threads by making new replies show up automatically when the user is on the last page of a thread.

Groups that can set a thread as a live thread
Groups that can view live threads
Forums where threads are automatically live threads
Users can choose to turn off live thread functionality on a thread-by-thread basis
